Abstract
The effects of urethan, colchicine and HN2 on the oxidative phosphorylation of rat liver mitochondria were studied and it was found that these agents have no significant uncoupling action in concentrations effective in vivo.
The incorporation of labeled methionine in ascites tumor cells was inhibited by these agents in concentrations which inhibit mitosis. However, these agents did not inhibit the amino acid entrance into the cells.
