Abstract
Pharmacological and neurophysiological properties of a new synthetic agent, 5-7-diphenyl-1-3-diazadamantan-6-ol (1757 I.S.) were studied.
1757 I.S. exhibited a strong convulsant activity in mice, rats and rabbits remarkably similar to that of strychnine.
The effects of 1757 I.S. on the cortical, subcortical and spinal electrical activity of curarized unanesthetized rabbits were compared with those of strychnine, pentylenetetrazol, picrotoxin and nikethamide.
The results obtained indicate striking analogy between 1757 I.S. and strychnine also from the viewpoint of the electrographic patterns.
