2022, Life SciencesCitation Excerpt :SD mice and diabetic mice were administered intraperitoneally with saline, and analogously mice in acyclovir group were injected with 10 mg/kg/day acyclovir (A829547, Macklin, Shanghai, China) which is applied to treat herpes simplex virus at 10–15 mg/kg dosage three times a day in humans, and the dose is about 300–450 mg/kg in mice [23]. Also, the LD50 (intraperitoneal) of acyclovir was measured as 1454 mg/kg in the mice, and acyclovir at 10 mg/kg is approximately 30 to 150 times less than the concentrations listed [24].
