2017, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta - General SubjectsReactive oxygen species derived from xanthine oxidase interrupt dimerization of breast cancer resistance protein, resulting in suppression of uric acid excretion to the intestinal lumen
2015, Biochemical PharmacologyCitation Excerpt :Renal uric acid reabsorption is mainly mediated by urate transporter 1 (URAT1, also known as SLC22A12) and glucose transporter 9 (GLUT9, also known as SLC2A9) [8,9]. Renal uric acid secretion is mainly mediated by sodium phosphate transporter (NPT1, also known as SLC17A1) [10,11]. Recently, breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP, also known as ABCG2), which belongs to the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily, has been identified as a uric acid transporter, which contributes to intestinal excretion of uric acid [12–15].
Assay development of inducible human renal phosphate transporter Npt2A (SLC34A1) in Flp-In-Trex-HEK293 cells
2013, European Journal of PharmacologyCitation Excerpt :Thus, there is a significant unmet need for new and safe pharmacological concepts targeting hyperphosphatemia. In vertebrates, 3 phosphate transporter families, solute carrier series SLC17 (Reimer and Edwards, 2004; Collins et al., 2004), SLC20 (Uchino et al., 2000), and SLC34 (Ichikawa et al., 2006; Tatsumi et al., 1998) have been identified. The SLC34 family, also called type II Na/Pi cotransporters, include SLC 34A1 (Npt2A), SLC34A2 (Npt2B) and SLC34A3 (Npt2C) (Leila et al., 2007).
