CHOpIRES and CHOhOAT cells were treated with various concentrations of adefovir in the presence or absence of 100 μM inhibitor. After 5 days, 50% cytotoxic concentrations values were determined by 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide cytotoxicity assay. The data represent mean ± S.D. from at least two independent experiments.

  • 1-a  The numbers in parentheses represent fold decrease of adefovir cytotoxicity in CHOhOAT in the presence of inhibitor.

  • 1-b  Diflunisal was tested at 30 μM concentration due to its cytotoxicity at higher concentrations.
