Vehicle or compounds were administered twice daily to rats beginning on the day of adjuvant injection (day 0). Paw volumes were determined, and radiographs of the paws were taken on the days indicated after immunization with adjuvant. Paw volumes are expressed as the increase from day 0. Plasma NOx levels were determined after sacrifice on day 21.
