  • 1-a Mice were treated with MSU crystals (3 mg i.p.) at time 0 and lavage fluids were collected at the reported time-points. Untreated mice (time 0 group) were used for comparative purposes.

  • 1-b β-Glucuronidase activity was measured in cell-free lavage fluids as described in “Materials and Methods.” Values are mean ± S.E.M. of (n) per group.

  • 1-c Protein concentration in cell-free lavage fluids was quantified using the blue Coomassie reaction as described in “Materials and Methods.” Values are mean ± S.E.M. of (n) per group.
