Uptake rates of tested transport systems

Transport experiments were performed as described in Material and Methods using the substrates and conc. given in the table. Uptake was normalized to picomole per milligram protein × minute. The ratio was calculated by dividing transporter-mediated uptake rates by uptake rates under control conditions. Data are given as mean ± S.D.
