Effect of aerosolized cannabinoids on the total number of inflammatory cells and neutrophils recovered from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in guinea pigs 6 hours after an intratracheal administration of saline or TNF-α

Comparison of the effect of cannabinoids on the increases in total count of leukocytes and neutrophils (cells × 104/ml) in the lavage fluid from guinea pig lungs 6 hours after intratracheal instillation of either 50 μl of saline or 2 μg of human TNF-α. Each animal was exposed to an aerosolized solution of either a cannabinoid (10 mg/ml) or its vehicle, solutol, for 20 minutes 1 hour before the intratracheal challenge with saline or TNF-α. Each value represents the mean ± S.E.M. (n = 6).
