It is more prompt but shorter in duration than that of the latter. 2. The minimal convulsive and minimal lethal doses, as compared with those of picrotoxin, have been determined in frogs, mice, rats, and rabbits by subcutaneous or intravenous injection, or both. 3. "Sodium Amytal" can detoxify in rabbits 45 minimal fatal doses of coriamyrtin, and 40 minimal lethal doses of picrotoxin. 4. Conversely, coriamyrtin or picrotoxin can detoxify in rabbits 1¾ but not 2 minimal lethal doses of "Sodium Amytal." In monkeys, coriamyrtin abolishes anesthesia and causes awakening following a minimal anesthetic dose of "Sodium Amytal."
