This relationship, together with the fact that the adrenal gland is especially rich in choline, indicates that choline may be important for the elaboration of both the autonomic hormones. The effects upon the blood pressure of the acetyl and catechol derivatives of choline and of the bases derived from choline by progressive demethylation are given. The acetyl derivatives of the same bases were also compared upon the isolated frog heart and upon the intestine of the rabbit.
