AB The administration of morphine to the albino rat results in hypertrophy of the adrenal gland due in large part if not entirely to an increase in the volume of the cortex. There is a definite relation between the dose of morphine attained and the increase in morphine tolerance on the one hand and the hypertrophy of the adrenal cortex on the other. It is pointed out that these factors may not be dependent on one another.
