There is no constant relationship between pituitrin diuresis and either systolic pressure or pulse pressure or the ratio between them, although 3. Pituitrin diuresis usually is accompanied by decreased pulse pressure. Previous researches (Schaefer and Herring) have shown that there is no constant relationship between changes of kidney volume and pituitary diuresis. 4. Pituitrin diuresis, therefore, is due primarily to direct stimulation of the renal cells—usually aided, probably, by a concomitant vasodilation in the kidneys. ER -
