Administration of hydrazine in doses of 25 mg/kg produces large increases in the plasma concentration of all amino acids, with a concomitant rise in urinary excretion. Tyrosine and alanine are particularly responsive to hydrazine, manifesting 22- and 4-fold increases, respectively. The mechanisms responsible for these effects of hydrazine are unknown; however, some data implicate impairment of gluconeogenesis. © 1968 by The Williams & Wilkins Company
