There is no correlation with diuretic activity at comparable dosages. Ex 4877, an experimental compound which antagonizes the saluretic effect of thiazides, is also hyperglycemic. Other reports of the hyperglycemic effects of these drugs are discussed. It is suggested that the etiology of the hyperglycemia from these drugs is not related to their renal activity and may be multifactorial. © 1968 by The Williams & Wilkins Company ER -
