Doses of more than 4 mg/kg of APMT gave rise to a transient hypotension preceding the hypertensive response. Increases in spleen volunue followed administration of APMT. Biphasic changes in limb volumue and blood flow were correlated with blood pressure changes. The APMT hypertension is attributed to a direct constrictor action on vessels in the skeletal musculature. A fleeting vasodilation is postulated to account for the transient decrease in blood pressure following large doses of APMT. ER -
