The physiological changes taken as an indication that the drug was being absorbed consisted of depression of respiration, ataxia, and the loss of the corneal reflex. Bladder absorption of pentobarbital sodium appears to be dependent upon the state of the bladder mucosa, the extent of bladder distention, and the concentration of the solution employed.
