Morphinone is less potent and has a lower therapeutic index. All compounds cause less gastrointestinal motility inhibition in mice. 6 - methylenedihydrodesoxymorphine was studied in dogs with regard to analgesia, sedation, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal changes, hypothermias, miosis, and reversal of actions by nalorphine. The findings suggest it may cause analgesia in doses which have minimal side effects. © 1958, by The Williams & Wilkins Company
