AB Dicumarol added to either purified, or pellet diets, at levels from 40 to 200 mg/kg diet, induced heart muscle lesions in mice resembling those observed in mice kept on sulfaguanidine-supplemented purified diets. Vitamin E supplements to the diet did not modify the effect of Dicumarol (200 mg/kg), while this effect was prevented by vitamin K1 at 2 times, or Menadione at 8 times the dietary level of Dicumarol. The addition of vitamin E to a diet containing Menadione at twice the level of Dicumarol did not alter the effect of Dicumarol.
