Two-and three-neurone ares were inhibited by intravenous injection of 30 to 40 mgm./kgm. zoxazolamine. Complexes in ventral roots representing 4- and 5-neurone reflexes or reflexes mediated by slowly conducting fibers were inhibited by intravenuous injection of 15-30 mgm./kgm.zoxazolamuuine. Prolonged repetitive activity in ventral root filments in response to intense dorsal root stimulation was also decreased at these doses. The amount of zoxazolamine which is sufficient to depress the withdrawal reflex also inhibits the rate of repetitive discharge of motoneurones. The possible sites of action of zoxazolamine are discussed.
