RT Journal Article SR Electronic T1 THE EFFECT OF A VASOCONSTRICTIVE AGENT, METARAMINOL, ON HUMAN TOLERANCE TO ACCELERATION JF Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics JO J Pharmacol Exp Ther FD American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics SP 228 OP 231 VO 117 IS 2 A1 Greiner, Theodore YR 1956 UL http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/content/117/2/228.abstract AB Metaraminol in oral doses of 1 mgm. per kgm. increased tolerance to positive acceleration an average of 0.7 g-unit in 8 volunteers tested on the human centrifuge. This protection was far below that provided by the G-suit or by gradual induction of acceleration. Combination of metaraminol with either of these two systems provided no additional advantage.
