Abstract
My results, combined with those of Bovet, show that a large number of quinoline compounds with a basic side chain of adequate length in position 8 produce a strong local anaesthetic action, both when applied to mucous membranes and when injected intradermally. My results also show that side chains with two amine groups are more effective than side chains containing a single amine group.
