Abstract
A colorimetric method for the estimation of small quantities of tartaric acid is described. This method, apparently specific for tartrate, is applicable to a variety of biological materials and is rapid, sensitive and accurate. The method depends upon the development of a red color through a reaction between tartrate and sodium metavanadate in acetic acid solution.
