Abstract
It is shown that three independent approaches to the measurement of drug-receptor dissociation constants yield estimates which are essentially equivalent. In addition, it is demonstrated that estimates obtained from preparations contracting isometrically or isotonically are the same and that estimates from intact guinea-pig ileum preparations and longitudinal muscle strips from guinea-pig ileum are equivalent. These results provide further evidence for the contention that dissociation constants actually are measured with the pharmacological approaches presently available.
