Abstract
One of the products of pamaquine metabolism following a single oral dose of this drug to chickens is 8-(diethylamino-1-methylbutylamino)-5,6-quinoline-quinone. Proof of structure of this metabolite is based upon its conversion to the quinoxaline following interaction with orthophenylenediamine and comparing the crystalline dipicrate of the resulting product with that obtained from synthetic 8-(diethylamino-1-methylhutylamino)-5,6-quinolinequinone treated in similar fashion.
