Abstract
1. The effect of substituted benzoic and nicotinic acids on the growth of the H37 and B1 strains of tubercle bacilli has been studied.
2. The most effective compounds were 2,3,5 triiodobenzoate which was bacteriostatic and 3,5 diiodo-2-hydoxybenzoate which was bacteriostatic and bactericidal.
