Abstract
In anesthetized rabbits kept in a relatively constant state of renal activity by the continuous infusion of either dextrose or sucrose solutions, the intravenous injection of phlorizin in doses of 200 mgm. per kilogram results in a more or less marked decrease in urine secretion. Calculation of the glomerular filtration indicates a marked reduction. These findings are presented as indicating evidence of an action of phlorizin on renal activity other than the well-known blocking of the tubular reabsorption of glucose.
