The publisher regrets that a number of typesetting errors were made in the above article. All but one were errors noted by the authors that should have been corrected by the compositor.
In the right column of the Abstract, “urate” was erroneously inserted before “hippurate”. The sentence should be “Rather, the value of EK{mi} exceeded EK{pmi} because of the ratio of efflux clearances at the basolateral and luminal membranes for hippurate was less than 26.089, a value determined by the GFR, plasma renal flow, and the unbound fraction of hippurate of the system that would render E{mi} to equal E{pmi} in the system.”
On page 597, in the right column of the article text, the third sentence should begin “In vivo, it has been suggested. …” The word “it” was omitted.
The list of abbreviations should have included the following: BA, benzoic acid; HA, hippuric acid; FE, fractional excretion.
In the line following equation (8), the word “found” should be “formed”.
In the caption to Fig. 2, post-equilibration was incorrectly hyphenated at the line break.
In the right column on page 601, parentheses are missing in the last line of the first paragraph. The line should be “(fu{mi}GFR) was 11.3 ± 3.3.”
In the left column on page 602, parentheses are missing in the third line from the bottom of the column. The line should be “ratioVmax/Km (or 195 nmol/min/g/5.3 μM) reported for the. …”
In the sixth line of the left column on page 603, the value should be 4/38, not 4:38. In the fourth line of the following paragraph, the word “generally” should have been deleted.
Equation (EA6) should have appeared as:
