Abstract
Conitinuous infusion of sodium mesoxalate into the pancreatic artery, via the common hepatic artery, produced hypoglycemia in dogs much more readily than did infusions into the jugular and portal veins. Substances closely related to sodium mesoxalate did not produce such an effect. The findings suggest that the hypoglycemic effect of sodium mesoxalate may he the result of an increased secretion of insulin.
