Abstract
1. A modification of the methyl orange technique for basic amines has been developed for the determination of Dromoran in plasma, urine and gastro-intestinal tract contents.
2. Urinary excretion data indicate a close similarity between non-tolerant and tolerant dogs.
3. The excretions of the l- and d-isomers and of a mixture of d- and l-isomers were found to be similar to the excretion of racemic Dromoran hydrobromide.
4. Dromoran, following intravenous infusion, disappeared very rapidly from the plasma.
5. Dromoran is rapidly absorbed orally when administered to fasted rats.
6. Dromoran is partially excreted as the glucuronide and possibly in some other conjugated form.
