Abstract
The data agree well with the postulate that the "true" dose-response curve for the pressor effects of each of the drugs is a rectangular hyperbola. A critical definition of cardiovascular sensitivity, dy/dX, is developed; the concept is tested and appears useful. Two definitions of potency are developed: the absolute potency and the dose (or response) potency. From each a potency ratio which is valid over the entire dosage range can be determined. This ratio requires no assumptions of either equality of dose or of response. It presumes that non-parallelism may be present.
