Ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity are relatively common but can be managed to some degree by a single daily dose administration and therapeutic drug monitoring [246–248]. Although the details on the mechanisms of ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity have not been elucidated, they are probably multifactorial and involve the generation of reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide [249–251].
