Synaptic behaviors in flexible Au/WO<inf>x</inf>/Pt/mica memristor for neuromorphic computing system
2022, Materials Today PhysicsCitation Excerpt :The rapid expansion of data information puts forward higher and higher requirements for the efficiency of computer acquisition, coding, and operation, while traditional computers are gradually unable to meet these requirements due to the limitations of the von Neumann architecture bottleneck [1–3]. The brain is an efficient computer system with approximately 1012 neurons and 1016 synapses, which can perform complex perception and recognition functions [4–8]. It is very difficult to simulate the function of the brain by making hardware.

2020, Neurobiology of Learning and MemoryCitation Excerpt :A subset of deep nucleus neurons inhibit the cells of the inferior olive, which give rise to the climbing fiber inputs to Purkinje cells. Climbing fiber inputs induce LTD at recently active pf → PC synapses whereas activation of pf → PC synapses in the absence of a climbing fiber input induces LTP (Hansel et al., 2001; Lev-Ram et al., 2002, 2003; Linden & Connor, 1995; Linden et al., 1991). Fig. 1B shows simulation results that illustrate the homeostasis that this combination of connections and plasticity produces.
