After completing the last video-EEG monitoring at 16 wk post-CCI (Fig. 1), animals (7 Wt-sham, 6 Wt-CCI, 7 uPAR-sham, 7 uPAR-CCI) were anesthetized and perfused according to the Timm fixation protocol [39]. Briefly, mice were perfused with 0.37% sulfide solution (5 ml/min, 4 °C) for 10 min followed by 4% paraformaldehyde in 0.1-M sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.4 (5 ml/min, 4 °C) for 10 min.
