2020, Reproductive ToxicologyCitation Excerpt :These studies have also shown that prenatal exposure to cocaine can result in long-lasting deficits in emotional behavior, short-term memory, and behavioral sensitization [35,82–87]. It also produces functional alterations of 5-HT and DA brain systems and brain growth retardation [88–92]. Our study found that prenatal cocaine exposure led to an age-dependent increase in cocaine-induced locomotor activity and induction and expression of locomotor sensitization.
