Phenolic compounds from the rhizomes of Alpinia speciosa

Abstract

From the rhizomes of Alpinia speciosa, a new dihydrochalcone, dihydroflavokawin B, has been isolated together with six known phenolic compounds. The chemotaxonomic significance of these findings is discussed briefly.
