Thus, beta-endorphin and other opiates, e.g. morphine, might also give rise to increase in seizure threshold by producing sedative (Luttinger et al., 1981) and anti-stress (Valverdo, 2005; Sudakov, 2008) effects during food deprivation stress. In the literature, there are reports of epileptic seizures evoked by eating (Fiol et al., 1986; Senanayake, 1990; Koul, 1991; Loreto et al., 2000).

Intracisternal injection of NT to rats attenuates the locomotor hyperactivity induced by d-amphetamine, methylphenidate, and cocaine [86].
