Preventive effect of rebamipide on N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine-induced gastric carcinogenesis in rats
2015, Experimental and Toxicologic PathologyCitation Excerpt :Rebamipide has anti-inflammatory properties in the setting of both acute and chronic inflammation (Arakawa et al., 1998). Clinical and experimental data demonstrate that rebamipide accelerates gastric ulcer healing (Arakawa et al., 1995; Watanabe et al., 2005) and protects the gastric mucosa against acute injury caused by various noxious agents (Arakawa et al., 1998; Naito et al., 2007, 2008; Ogino et al., 1992). In addition, rebamipide has been reported to inhibit the growth of GC cells in vitro and ENNG-induced duodenal carcinogenesis in mice (Kang et al., 2010, 2013; Tanigawa et al., 2007; Tarnawski et al., 2005; Yamane et al., 1998).
