Perinatal Transition and Newborn Resuscitation
2023, Avery's Diseases of the NewbornEvaluation of an alternative treatment protocol by aglepristone to induce parturition in ewes with an experimental model of early pregnancy toxemia
2018, TheriogenologyCitation Excerpt :Significant improvement of pO2 values in group NC suggest temporary neonatal hypoxia which is the result of intensive uterine contractions and decreased placental circulation during delivery. Occurrence of compensatory metabolic acidosis in PT group was possibly related with maternal metabolic acidosis and hypoxemia, hypothesized by Nijland et al. [72]. The negligible alterations in HCO3, TCO2, Beb values were observed right after and 2 h after parturition however statistically difference results were measured 24 h after delivery.
