BSO is widely used as an inhibitor of GSH synthesis through its actions on γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase, the rate-limiting enzyme in GSH synthesis [35]. BSO increased airway inflammation but not AHR in Nrf2+/+ mice.

Our results, though with different types of stress, confirm the result of Seçkin et al., who found that chronic stress increases the levels of TBARS in liver and stomach [42].
