Effects of Tat on the [3H]NE release evoked by NMDA/glycine from rat cortical noradrenergic nerve endings: effects of I group mGluR antagonists

Synaptosomes were superfused with Mg2+-free medium; rat synaptosomes were exposed to NMDA (100 μM) + glycine (1 μM). Tat (final concentration 1 nM) was added concomitantly with NMDA/glycine. Group I mGluR antagonists MPEP (1 μM) and LY 367385 (1 μM) were added 8 min before agonists until the end of the superfusion period. Results are expressed as percentage increase over basal release; data are means ± S.E.M. of three experiments run in triplicate.

NMDA + Glycine-Induced [3H]NE Release Percentage of Increase
Control 33.50 ± 3.20
+Tat 55.00 ± 3.24a
+Tat + LY 367385 28.86 ± 3.22a
+Tat + MPEP
