The table shows the statistical evaluation of the responses 2 min after addition of the compounds (i.e., the responses to the fourth period of stimulation as shown in Fig. 1C). Responses were first expressed as percentage of the averaged responses to the three preceding periods of stimulation. These values were then normalized with respect to the mean of the corresponding control group (percentage of respective control; mean value in the control group: 106.9 ± 3.3% of averaged preceding responses; control plus DMSO: 100.9 ± 5.4%). Values are means ± S.E. of n = 5 to 24.
