Cell adhesion assays were performed with NIH/3T3 cells expressing human L1. Antagonist activity was calculated as [100 × (1 − (% inhibition cell adhesion by ethanol plus peptide)/(% inhibition cell adhesion by ethanol alone))]. Shown is the mean ± S.E.M. for the percentage of antagonist activity against 100 mM ethanol with 10−7 M of the indicated peptide (n = 4–10). Peptides are displayed by single letter code amino acid sequence, listed from amino to carboxy terminus.
