Incubations were performed, in duplicate or triplicate, using plasma from dogs pretreated with vehicle (period I) or GFZ (period II) (treatment group, n = 5), and 0.1 and 1 μM SV, at 37°C for 60 min. Control hydrolysis experiments also were conducted on the same days in plasma from a different group of dogs without prior treatment (untreated group, n = 3), or in buffer. Results (percentage of SVA formed/h) are means ± S.D. (n = 3–5).
