Uptake was measured in the medium containing sodium chloride [Na+ (+)] or choline chloride [Na+ (−)] (seeExperimental Procedures). Antisense (+) indicates the uptake into the oocytes after the coinjection of LST-1 antisense oligonucleotides and polyadenylated human liver mRNA. They were preincubated for 15 min at 42°C before the injection. Data are expressed as the mean ± S.E. of 4 to 15 uptake measurements.
