TD50 values of clonazepam and diazepam are from Witkin et al. (1999). The remaining values (with 95% CL in parentheses) were calculated from the dose-effect functions as shown in Figs. 2(TD50 value of chlormethiazole) and 6 (all ED50values). ED50 and TD50 values represent a dose of a drug (mg/kg) predicted to produce an effect in 50% of the mice tested. PI values represent a ratio of the TD50 and ED50 values of a drug.
