Release evoked by superfusion of KCl (30 mM) in striatal and nigral slices. Data represent mean ± S.E.M. (n = total number of signals, one signal per slice). Parameters listed are peak amplitude of signal and Tc of signal. Both amplitude and Tc were significantly (*p < .001, Student’st test) higher in striatum than in SN. Signals were predominantly DA-like in both brain regions, as demonstrated by red/ox ratios (see Results).
