The effect of indomethacin on Pardaxin-induced release of cyclooxygenase products in PC12 cells2-a

Eicosanoid (pg/ml)
PardaxinPardaxin + Indomethacin
PGE2 1034  ± 2752-150 ND2-b
TXB2 81  ± 252-150 ND2-b
6-keto-PGF 23  ± 92-150 ND2-b
  • 2-a PC12 cells preincubated with or without indomethacin (50 μM) for 30 min were treated with Pardaxin (5 μM) for an additional 15 min in DMEM containing calcium. Eicosanoids were determined in the culture medium. The basal release of PGE2(287 ± 66 pg/ml), TXB2 (85 ± 7 pg/ml) and 6-keto-PGF (8 ± 1 pg/ml) was subtracted from all the experimental values. The results are the mean ± S.E.M. of three experiments (n = 6).

  • 2-b ND, nondetectable.

  • 2-150  P < .01 vs. basal release.
