↵1-a PC12 cells were incubated with Pardaxin peptides (5 μM) for 15 min at 37°C, and PGE2 release was determined in the culture medium. The results are the mean ± S.E.M. of three experiments (n = 3). The basal release of PGE2(217 ± 82 pg/ml) was subtracted from all the experimental values.
↵1-b Amino acids marked by bold letters were substituted with their d-enantiomers; E-(NH2)2 stands for glutamic acid in which the two COOH groups were modified to two CO-NH-CH2CH2-NH2 groups by transamination with ethylenediamine.
↵1-c ND, nondetectable.
