  • Brain sections (14-μ thick) were incubated with 400 nM [3H]epibatidine and one of the indicated concentrations of cytisine. After a 3-wk exposure to βmax3H film, signal intensity was quantitated as described in “Materials and Methods” and specific binding was calculated by comparison to3H-containing standards. Values are presented in fmol of epibatidine bound per mg of tissue. Each value represents the mean ± S.E.M. from three different mice. Six individual measurements of signal intensity were made on each region from each mouse when possible. Entries of 0.0 correspond to areas that could no longer be identified and/or did not differ from film background.
